Homework and Reminders

With testing two weeks away, we are going to be spending class time covering some new concepts that you may see and we will be dedicating homework to reviewing old concepts. Please make sure you are making the most of your time. Mesa Verde will be holding our first Math Registration Night tomorrow night in the MPR at 6pm. This is going to be a fantastic opportunity for you to get information about the math classes your child will be offered in upcoming years and you will have the chance to talk to all of the teachers and ask questions. We are looking forward to seeing you there!
Math 7: This week, we will be continuing in Say It With Symbols. I plan to end the week with a partner quiz as I want to see how well you are understanding the material, but I don't want to put you through a big test or quiz this close to state testing. Your only homework this week is the problem solving worksheet you brought home tonight. It will be collected on Friday. Math 6: This week, we will be working on areas and perimeters. I plan to end the week with a partner quiz as I want to see how well you are understanding the material, but I don't want to put you through a big test or quiz this close to state testing. Your only homework this week is MathXL. Math 6 Honors: We are wrapping up our Geometry unit quickly. I had planned on dedicating the entire week to Geometry, but you guys are flying through the material. At this point, we will have two more lessons and close with a quiz on Wednesday. I'm planning on making this quiz a partner quiz in order to alleviate some pressure. Your homework this week is MathXL and the problem solving worksheet you took home today. Homework and Reminders

Math 7
We finished up the Filling and Wrapping test today in class. It was a tough one for many of you, but it will prepare you for what you will see on the state test in a couple of weeks AND it was a really great assessment for all of the Geometry we've learned this past month. This week, your only homework will be the spiral practice. No tests or quizzes. Math 6 Honors This week, we are moving on to our Geometry unit --- Covering and Surrounding. You will have two homework assignments this week: MathXL and the Geometry problem solving sheet I gave you. Both assignments will be due on Friday. Math 6 This week, we are wrapping up Variables and Patterns with our test scheduled tomorrow. Your only homework is MathXL. If you would like extra practice for the test, you can take a look at these problems in the Variables and Patterns book: Page 57: 14-16 Page 76: 1 Page 79: 6-8 Page 111: 26-30 Homework

Math 7
This week we will be continuing the test prep homework assignments. Great job on those last week. We did not get to the Filling and Wrapping test last Friday... it was an ambitious goal, but I'd rather postpone and give it when you are ready. I have scheduled the test for this Wednesday and Thursday and I 100% anticipate all students will be prepared. Part one of the test will be given on paper on Wednesday and part two will be on the computer on Thursday. Tomorrow will be our final review day. Math 6 Honors This week, we are finishing up Variables and Patterns. Your test will take place on Thursday and will cover everything in the Variables and Patterns book. Your only homework is MathXL. Math 6 This week, we are going to continue working through Variables and Patterns and focus all of our energy on investigation 4. No quiz this week, but your unit test is scheduled for next week. Your only homework is MathXL. Homework and Important Dates

Welcome back everyone! I hope you enjoyed a restful Spring break.
As we stare down the last few months of school, I'm modifying our homework routine slightly. Starting this week, we will no longer have weekly Math Munch and in it's place you will be given some sort of review activity. Check your grade level below for more details: 7th GRADE: No MathXL or Math Munch for the next six weeks. In order to prepare for state testing, you will receive a short review page each night (Monday through Thursday) and you will turn it in the following morning. No quiz this week. 6th GRADE: You have a MathXL assigned (click here to work on it). No Math Munch. Your review activity will be given in class and it will be graded just like Math Munch. Honors classes have a quiz on Thursday, regular classes have a quiz on Friday. |
